History of FIATx

The Fraud Investigators Association of Texas (FIATx) originally started as the Check Investigators Association of Texas in 1965. In March 1971 the name was changed to Forgery Investigators Association of Texas.

In keeping with the changing times and technology, the board of the association voted to change the name again in September 2002 at the annual conference.  Since that time we have been known as the Fraud Investigators Association of Texas. The new name incorporates the wide range of financial crimes that our members now investigate.
